About Dr. Wallace Lail
For over 40 years, Dr. Wallace Lail has been practicing dentistry in Duluth, GA. Upon completing his pre-dental studies at Emory University in Atlanta in 1961, Dr. Lail obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1965. After that, he joined the United States Army and practiced for 3 years. In 1969, he moved to Duluth, GA and started his own practice.
Dr. Lail has been a member of the Hinman Dental Society since 1971, serving as president in 1995 and was the General Chairman of the Hinman Dental meeting in 1998. Dr. Lail has been a civil servant in Duluth for 40 years and has served on the Duluth City Council. He is a charter member of the Gwinnett Rotary Club and served as president from 1983-1984.
Dr. Lail still lives in Duluth with his wife, Mary. He has 3 sons, Ray, Slade, and Brandan as well as 2 nephews and 10 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time at his cabin in Suches, as well as hunting and fishing. He also enjoys flying his restored 1938 Stearman bi-plane.

Bobbie Whelchel, Office Manager
Bobbie is a graduate of Lanier Technical College. She has worked in General Dentistry for over 20 years . She has been employed with Dr. Wallace Lail for the last 16 years, managing the financial and insurance needs of his patients. She is a Barrow County native where she lives with her husband, daughter, Chelsea, and their son due December 4th.
Candace McLeod, Front Office
Candace has worked in the dental field for 3 years. She worked for an oral surgeon and dentist in Alabama then moved to Georgia and became part of Dr. Lail’s team. Candace strives to make people feel more comfortable about coming to the dentist. A Buford resident, Candace enjoys spending time with her fiance, friends, and family as well as spoiling her black lab, Eli.
Christine Jones, Dental Assistant
Christine grew up in Hartford, Connecticut and graduated from Albert I. Prince Technical School, earning her diploma in dental assisting in 1995, and additionally receiving her expanded duties certificate in 2005 from Augusta Technical College. After eight years with our office, Christine continues to make every patient feel welcome and right at home with her outgoing personality and noticeable compassion. Christine has a new found love of working out, enjoys meeting new people and especially loves helping people feel better about themselves through their smiles. “Choose a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” – Confucius
Rebecca Anders, Dental Hygienist
Becky is a 1983 graduate of the Dental Hygiene Program at the Dunwoody Campus of Dekalb College. She has worked for Dr. Wallace Lail since January, 1997. Becky came to this practice with many years of hygiene experience in general dentistry as well as orthodontics and periodontics. She also worked as a dental hygiene clinic instructor at Dekalb College after her graduation. Her years prior to coming to Dr. Lail’s practice were spent in full-time hygiene work in Oakwood, Dunwoody and Peachtree Corners for general dentists and for a periodontist in Sandy Springs. Becky has two children who started and graduated from the Duluth School System, Melissa is 31 and Nathan is 29 and has two children of his own; Mikey (age 4) and Katie (age 2). They, as well as Becky, were very involved in the Duluth Youth Sports Associations and considered Shorty Howell Park their second home for 15 years. Other interests that occupy Becky’s time are scuba diving, traveling, skiing (water and snow), reading, developing and selling real estate and all sorts of water sports with her grandchildren.
Kathy Higgins, Dental Hygienist
Kathy has been a hygienist for 37 years. She has been in Dr. Wallace Lail’s office her entire career. A graduate of Clayton State College, she lives in Norcross with her husband, Dwayne. In her free time she likes to travel, read, and spend time with friends and family.
Natalie O’Keeffee, Dental Hygienist
Natalie received an associates degree in science and dental hygiene at Dekalb College in Dunwoody. She has practiced as a Dental Hygienist for 22 years. The best part of her job by far is the patients. Natalie and her husband are proud parents of two children and one granddaughter. In their spare time they enjoy traveling, hanging out with family and friends and spoiling their granddaughter.
