Bonding and Tooth Colored Fillings

Bonding repairs decayed or broken teeth with tooth colored filling material. It can also enhance the cosmetic appearance of chipped, misshaped, or discolored teeth or close spaces between teeth. This material comes in a variety of shades to match your existing tooth color. When applied, the material is soft and can be shaped with an instrument and then hardened by the use of a special curing light. Finally the bonded filling is smoothed and polished to achieve a very natural appearance.

Bonding can be a more affordable alternative to longer lasting porcelain crowns, veneers or onlays to correct minor esthetic imperfections. It is also used to replace amalgam (silver) fillings for a more natural appearance. Resin composite materials are mercury-free.
