Teeth Whitening

For many dental patients, tooth whitening can provide a great improvement by creating a brighter, whiter smile!

Teeth naturally change color and darken slowly over time. These changes can occur due to a variety of factors such as aging, childhood medications, tobacco use, food and beverage stains (like tea, coffee, and soda), trauma to the teeth, and improper oral hygiene. Teeth can be restored to a brighter white by various whitening techniques. The two main methods are at-home bleaching with custom trays and bleach, or in-office whitening procedures. Both are completely safe and do not harm the tooth or the enamel. The whitening materials work by cleaning out the microscopic pores in the enamel that can become filled with stains over time. The only side effect a few patients experience is temporary sensitivity of the teeth during the bleaching treatment period.
